Halswellhealth is open during level 2 of the lockdown. The Ministry of Health has instructed General Practice to operate virtual consultations where possible to limit the spread of COVID and other viral illnesses. For any health needs please contact us and we will do our best to help you. We wish to thank our community for the ongoing support of our practice.
Phone consultations are available daily and can be booked via Connectmed or calling the practice. Some of our doctors have less availability for consults as they are involved in managing the acute response and testing for COVID-19 but we have plenty of GPs available to manage your health needs. If you think you will require to see the doctor or nurse in person/ face to face then this will be screened first via a telephone call.
If you do require an “in person consult” then we have safe spaces available for this to happen and we are taking strict measures to keep the surgeries safe for all our patients and staff. Repeat prescriptions are available as usual and can be ordered via email, phone or our dedicated script line.
We continue to offer routine childhood vaccinations and it is important that children continue to receive these when due. Some screening and routine tests are still necessary and these can be planned with your doctor or nurse eg cervical screening, blood tests.
At present we have been instructed by the Ministry of Health to test anyone that has symptoms suggestive of a viral illness. These symptoms include cough, runny nose, sore throat, loss of sense of smell/taste, fever. We can arrange COVID-19 testing so please contact the surgery if you think you need testing.
We are now allowed to provide flu vaccination for any of our enrolled patients. Please note there is a shortage of vaccine for the under 3s and so we are only allowed to vaccinate those children under 3 who are eligible for a free vaccination.
