James grew up in Yorkshire, completing a Bachelor of Science degree at The University of Manchester before graduating from Swansea College of Medicine in 2017. After working in the UK NHS, James emigrated to New Zealand in 2020 first working in urgent care and then General Medicine in Whangārei. He settled in Christchurch in 2024 where he spent time working in General Medicine, Cardiology and Older Person’s Health. When not at work, James enjoys spending time with his two young children, cycling and football.
